Bethesda and Potomac
Carpet, rug and upholstery cleaning in Bethesda
Bethesda is the Montgomery County end of the run for Spectrum, a family-owned crew working out of Industry Lane in Frederick. The same page covers Potomac, and the neighbouring towns on the service-area list are rolled out further down.
The technicians are IICRC-certified. The cleaning solutions and equipment carry the Carpet and Rug Institute Seal of Approval, and the family has been cleaning carpet since 1986. You get the same walk-through, the same work order and the same before-and-after photos with the invoice that a Frederick customer gets.

How a Bethesda carpet gets clean
Hot-water extraction
Heated water goes into the carpet to loosen what has settled in the nap, and the truck-mount pulls it straight back out with the soil. Spots are pre-treated first, then the whole room gets the same pass. The cleaner is Procyon Plus Powder, an environmentally friendly product.
Steam cleaning
Many homeowners ask for steam cleaning by name. The method behind it is hot water driven into the fibre and pulled out again, which is what hot-water extraction does too. Carpet is usually dry in 12 to 24 hours afterwards.
Allergy-safe green solutions
The mission at Spectrum is a healthier indoor environment: take out the dirt, grime, odors and irritants that trigger allergic reactions, and do it with safe, all-natural solutions rather than anything harsh.
The full process is laid out on the carpet cleaning page, and the odors that hang on after a pet accident get their own treatment under odor control.
The rugs leave, the sofa stays
Sofas and chairs are cleaned in the room, after a pre-test of the fabric for durability, composition and condition, whether it is cotton, wool, rayon, silk or a synthetic. Area and oriental rugs go back to the Spectrum warehouse: tagged, measured and photographed, dusted with compressed air, washed in a submersion bath, rinsed, dried in a controlled drying room and brought home hand-combed and wrapped.
